This study critically examined reflective thinking as a multifaceted process. By virtue of its complexity, the task of teaching requires constant and continual classroom observation, evaluation, and subsequent action. It is an analysis of classroom events and circumstances. This study also looked at reflection as a process of rethinking and analyzing certain actions in class that students and teachers reach their teaching and learning objectives. This study utilized the traditional methods of enquiry: namely the speculative; analytic; and prescriptive methods.

The study investigated the relationship between membership of professional association and work engagement of female lecturers in public universities in Rivers State. Three research questions were formulated in line with the objectives of the study. The study adopted the correlation research design. The targeted population of the study was 978 female academics in the three public universities in Rivers State from which 284 female lecturers were selected as sampled for the study using the simple random sampling technique.
The study shed light on the unique experiences and difficulties encountered by students from single-parent homes considering the intricacies of single parenthood in shaping their educational journey and overall well-being. Single-parent households have become increasingly prevalent in contemporary society, and Edo State in Nigeria is no exception. The absence of one of the parents in the house can pose various challenges for children, particularly during their formative years.
The paper investigated parents’ perception on the effects of the rising cost of living and access to quality secondary education in Rivers State. Three research questions were raised and answered and three hypotheses were tested in the study. The design employed for the study was descriptive survey. The population of the study consisted of all parents in the 302 public senior secondary schools in Rivers State while convenience sampling technique was used to select 284 parents, who volunteered to participate in the study.
This study investigated the Child Rights Act in the education of orphans and vulnerable children in Junior Secondary Schools in Rivers State, Nigeria as an imperative for sustainable development. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. A descriptive research design was adopted. The population comprised all the 7,492 teachers in the 322 public Junior Secondary Schools in Rivers State.
The paper assessed social media obsession and associated deviant behaviour among youths in contemporary Nigerian society. Four research questions and corresponding hypotheses were answered and tested in the study. Survey research design was adopted in the study while the population comprised youths in Yenagoa Local Government Area out of which 383 youths were sampled using convenience sampling technique. The instrument used for data collection was a 15- item questionnaire titled “Social Media Obsession and Deviant Behaviour among Youths Questionnaire”.
Nigeria's democratic system faces significant challenges, including corruption, ethnic and religious divisions, and electoral malpractices. This paper critically examines the complexities of Nigeria's democratic journey, exploring how the entrenched bimodal triangle of ethnicity, religion, and accountability has imperilled the country's political landscape. Through a Socratic lens, this research interrogates the tensions between these forces and Nigeria's democratic experiment, seeking to understand their impact on the country's democracy.
This study examined the methods English language teachers use in teaching grammatical structures in public secondary schools in the Riverine Local Government Areas of Rivers State. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. Bonny Local Government Area was purposively selected for the study due to the number of English Language teachers in the secondary schools in the area. All the 35 English language teachers in Bonny LGA took part in the survey, due to the dearth of English language teachers in Rivers State.
