This paper discusses educational theories and the philosophy of education. The work provides the imperativeness of philosophical pundits on the issue of educational theories and tries to give clarity on the main activities of philosophers of education in handling problems in the field of education. It is established that philosophers often engage themselves in trying to get at the truth on certain important questions by rational means.

The study examined gender differences in perception of and interest in science and technology. A survey research design was used in the study. The population for the study comprised all Junior Secondary three students in Ondo. The sample consisted of 223 students (128 male and 96 female) randomly selected from six secondary schools Questionnaire on Gender Perception and Interest in Science and Technology was used to collect data for the study.

The study assessed the relationship between athletes’ motivation and coaches actual leadership style in selected team sports in Adamawa State Sports Council, Nigeria. Correlational design was used for the study. The population for the study comprised all the male and female programme athletes in team sports of basketball, football, handball and volleyball in Adamawa State Sports Council, Nigeria. One hundred and eight copies of questionnaires were administered but only one hundred and four copies of questionnaires were well completed making 96.3% return rate.

Inclusive education is not a marginal issue, but is central to the achievement of quality education for all learners and the development of more inclusive societies. Thus, the common saying within the global inclusive education movement "if we learn together, we learn to live together". Hence, the study investigated the factors that cause mental retardation and the needs for counselling. The roles of parents, teachers and counsellors in managing the mentally retarded were examined. The study used a descriptive survey.

Ageing population has become a major concern especially in developing and middle income countries that are experiencing rapid shift from high mortality and high fertility to much reduced fertility and greater longevity. Nigeria has the highest number of elderly people in the sub-Saharan Africa. Available records show that elderly population in Nigeria will increase from 6.4 million in 2005 to 11.5 million in 2025 and 25.5 million in 2050.

The paper assessed the relationship between students’ performance in Social Studies and usage of instructional media in Junior Secondary Schools in Kano State. The study adopted correlation research design. The target population for this study was two thousand eight hundred and eighty eight (2,888) Social Studies teachers in public Junior Secondary Schools in Kano State. Multi stage sampling technique was used for this study. Purposive sampling method was used in selecting respondents from thirty five (35) local government areas.

Everyone has those moments where you forget something either important or trivial. However, when the moments that you forget outnumber the moments you remember, there may be cause for concern. There are several reasons that you may be experiencing short-term memory loss. To better understand if you have a problem and what to do about it, it is a good idea to arm yourself with information before going to the doctor. This paper therefore explores the processs of short-term memory and highlights the implications for education and health.

The process of long-term potentiation has a significant role in learning and new memory formation; the strong and weak memory depends on the synaptic communication network strength. Strong synaptic links have a high probability of storing new information and correct recall. Various factors have been investigated, which have contributed to retaining more information and recall after a long time.

The study which was a survey, investigated the preventive and curative health services in secondary schools in Borno State. The target population of the study comprised 14786, senior secondary school students. However, 7,500 staff and students constituted the sample for the study. Researchers’ self-designed instrument tagged “School Health Services Questionnaire” (SHSQ) was used in collecting data for the study. Data collected was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Three research questions and two null-hypotheses piloted the study.
