Corruption and unethical practices remain one of the critical challenges facing Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in Nigeria. There are concerns about the lack of academic fidelity in the HEIs arising from scant interest in academic rigour and leading to academic dishonesty. Efforts towards addressing these problems in the HEIs have not produced lasting solutions.

Education is the major pivot on which the entire gamut of national development is placed in the third world countries. Although western education was introduced into the shores of Nigeria in the 1840s by the Christian missionaries, its growth and development subsequently have been influenced by both political and military leaders from pre-independence period to date. This paper examined the leadership factor in the provision of education in Nigeria and its attendant contributions to national development.
For many centuries theories have been found to be useful in the education sector and this may not be far from the fact that to better understand issues in education, theories are of immense importance. This paper set out to analyze issues as they relate to bridging the gap between theory and practice of education in Nigeria. The aim of any educational theory is to analyze and interpret issues in education for the progress of teaching and learning.
Nigeria, as a nation, has passed through a lot of political, social and economic milestones since independence in 1960.A number of these events are majorly political, such as change of government that is usually violent and which led to fatality whenever it involved violent change of power by the Nigerian military. Furthermore, elections have been found to be violent owing to irregularities and attempt to rig or prevent rigging in an election. Also, the concept of economic instability has also been a major issue for the Nigerian state since independence.
Field trips in the teaching and learning of entrepreneurial knowledge and skills in Nigerian universities help to bring about effective and efficient learning among undergraduates. Field trip is a group excursion away from the normal education environment for first-hand experience but rarely adopted by some universities in Nigerian. This paper therefore examined the regularity of field trips by undergraduates and the entrepreneurial skills acquired in Oyo State, Nigeria. The population of the study was undergraduates of federal, state and private universities in Oyo state.
The study assessed undergraduate students’ perceived usefulness of hypermedia in facilitating self-regulated learning in tertiary institutions. The study used Descriptive Survey Design, to explore and determine the innovative, discovery, and dynamic usefulness of hypermedia from the point of views of undergraduate students.
This paper advocates the need for critical thinking and creativity in education. It described critical thinking as the capacity to think more clearly and logically in order to understand the valid connections that exist between ideas. Critical thinking is being considered in this paper as the defining quality of the fruitful and creative mind. It further noted that critical thinking is important in education because without the skills of critical thinking it may be difficult to determine some issues of societal concern in the society.
The study investigated the effects of instructional approaches (Concept Mapping and Mathematical approach) on academic achievement of senior secondary school Biology students in Gombe Metropolis. Quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design was adopted. The population was all senior secondary two (SS2) Biology Students in Gombe metropolis.
This study sought to ascertain the information seeking behaviour of fitness clients in Maiduguri Metropolis, Borno State, Nigeria. The study adopted the survey design. The study's population encompassed of three hundred and seventy seven (377) exercisers’. Availability sampling procedure was used for the study. A questionnaire was used for data collection. Data was analyzed using the frequency distribution and percentage counts while multiple regression was used to test the formulated hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance.
